Senior Process Engineer
A high precision machining services company is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to develop and optimize processes for laser equipment and EDM equipment used in producing micro features on components. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the company’s core values of People, Integrity, and Excellence, and possess expertise in process development, validation, advanced machining technology, design of experiments (DOE), and inspection techniques.
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Define, develop, and implement processes for operating advanced laser equipment from prototype development through volume production.
- Apply DOE (Design of Experiments) methodologies to establish efficient and capable processes
- Design and develop robust work-holding solutions and fixtures
- Train and mentor Engineering Technicians in laser and EDM equipment setup and operation
- Thoroughly document all processes to ensure alignment with customer requirements and internal procedures
- Lead efforts to drive innovation and enhance productivity within the innovation lab
- Create detailed work instructions and train personnel on laser equipment operation and EDM equipment operation in a production environment
- Oversee equipment maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and manage reporting
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and Process Engineers to identify and procure new equipment to support the innovation lab’s growth and advancement.
Employee will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: 4-year degree in engineering or a related science field
- Preferred: 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing and CAD (SolidWorks)/CAM (ESPRIT) software
- Proficient in C++ programming and G-code machine language
- Strong proficiency in MS office
- In-depth knowledge of ISO quality systems
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
