CNC Swiss Machinist

High precision micro component company seeks a motivated, self-starter CNC Swiss Lathe Machinist to help support continued growth.  Primary responsibility is programming, setup and operation of Swiss lathes, and to lead and develop lathe operators. Successful candidate will have knowledge of swiss turning methods, techniques, tooling, software.  Successful candidate will demonstrate the company core values, People, Integrity, and Excellence, in all aspects of their assigned duties and responsibilities.

Reports To: Production Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Setup, Program, and Operation of Swiss Lathes
    • Establish Benchmarks for Throughput
    • Establish Inspection Processes and Procedures
    • Optimizing for Efficiency
    • Perform Troubleshooting and Process Improvement
    • Support New Program Development
  • Train Personnel
    • Assist In Developing Process Sheets
    • Train Swiss Lathe Operators
  • Assist Estimating and Quoting
    • Develop Time Studies and Identify Tool Requirements


Employee will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required: One-Year Machining Trade Certificate or Five Years of Swiss Turning Experience
  • Required: Two or More Years of CNC Machining and Programming Experience
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with others in a team environment
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of CNC turning:
    • CNC Swiss Lathe setup and operation
    • CAD & CAM systems: Solidworks exposure is a plus & DP Technology ESPRIT preferred
  • Must be comfortable working with close tolerances and small parts
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must communicate effectively
