Lead Swiss Machinist

High precision micro component company seeks a Lead Swiss Machinist to help support continued growth. Primary responsibility is to lead Swiss Machinist and Operators. Successful candidate will demonstrate the company core values, People, Integrity, and Excellence in all aspects of their assigned duties and responsibilities.

Reports To: Production Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead Swiss Machinist and Swiss Operators in production activities and maintain production schedule.
    • Set daily and weekly assignments.
    • Communicate priorities, production issues, and quality issues throughout all shifts.
    • Recommend and/or conduct training to establish and maintain Swiss machining competency.
    • Ensure maintenance is completed as scheduled and documented.
    • Maintain identification and traceability of the products.
    • Monitor job progress and verify accuracy of Data Collection MRP.
    • Participate in Swiss machining interviews and performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with Production Management, Engineering, and Quality to maximize production.
    • Monitor and maintain consumables.
    • Recommend equipment or tools needed to complete jobs
  • Draft new production procedures and work instructions.
  • Participate in nonconformance investigation, corrective and preventive actions in adherence to the Quality Management System.
  • Ensure sustainment of 5S. Employee will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be familiar with all aspects of CNC turning:
    • CNC lathe setup and operation
    • CNC Swiss lathe setup and operation
    • CNC Programming: DP Technology ESPRIT preferred
    • Solidworks exposure a plus
  • Required: One year machining trade certificate or five years Swiss turning experience
  • Required: Two or more years CNC Machining and Programming experience
  • Required: CNC Swiss lathe experience
  • Must have a high school diploma/GED with 5 years in a Lead/Supervisor role, bachelor’s degree in management is preferred
  • Must be familiar with MRP systems, Unipoint and JobBOSS preferred
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of quality management systems, ISO 13485 preferred
  • Must have strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
